# Research companies and markets with TradeClaw

Tell TradeClaw the market, company type, product, and decision you are working on to receive source-backed research that you can refine through follow-up questions.

## Who this is for

This guide is for sales, market research, procurement, and global trade members investigating target companies, buyers, market trends, trade conditions, or competitors.

## Start a research session

Open [TradeClaw](/admin/trade-claw) and describe the business question in the message box. A useful question usually includes:

- The country or target market
- The company, buyer, or supplier type
- The product or category
- The decision you need to make
- The relevant time range
- The sources or evidence you want to check

Instead of asking only “How is the German market?”, ask something like: “We plan to sell this product to mid-sized German industrial distributors. Compare demand signals, common buying requirements, and three buyer segments, and provide sources.”

## Review the result

1. Check whether the conclusion answers the question you asked.
2. Open key sources and confirm their publication dates and original context.
3. Separate source facts from analysis based on those facts.
4. Ask a narrower follow-up question when evidence is incomplete.
5. Start a new session when you change to a different research task.

Public information can be outdated or use different definitions. Recheck original sources before making an important customer or commercial decision.

## Continue and organize research

Continue in the same session to add conditions, request a comparison, or ask about a source. The conversation list supports search, rename, and pinning, and useful results can be saved as favorites.

To collaborate, choose “Share session” from the conversation menu. Anyone with the public link may be able to open it, so check the session for customer or confidential information before sharing.
