#Manage tasks and notes in Smart CRM

Tasks track work with a status or due date, while notes preserve customer context that should remain available on related CRM records.

#Who this is for

Use this guide when your team needs to track a next action or retain customer context without duplicating it across records.

#Create a task

Open Tasks, or create a task from the related record. Give it a specific outcome, assignee when applicable, status, and due date. Link it to the person, company, or opportunity it concerns, then update it when the work is completed or rescheduled.

#Add a note

Open Notes, or add a note from the related record. Record the useful context, such as a meeting summary, confirmed decision, research finding, or customer statement. Link it to the relevant records so the context appears where the team needs it.

#FAQ

Use a task for work that must be completed and a note for context, meeting information, decisions, or supporting facts.

#Where should I create a task or note?

Create it from its own CRM area or from the related person, company, or opportunity so the correct relationship is visible.
